Text Structure Piece "Woods Runner"

In the book “Woods Runner” there is these people that Samuel is trying to save. What lead him up to doing this is because to British had taken his parents and he is trying to rescue them. Samuel had to travel to New York just to try to capture them, don’t even mention that every step he takes he could be seen or someone could be following him and they would kill him. He had almost been shot twice during and while he is trying to rescue his parents. When he had finally got there he had rescued his parents and a girl named Annie. Samuel was very lucky that he wasn’t shot or even taken by the British himself. In the end he had rescued three people from New York and all of them went back and settled in Philadelphia.

The Outsiders Final Essay

Have you ever been judged by the way you look or your personality? Don’t you just hate it? In the book “The Outsiders” there are too different kinds of groups the Greasers and the Soc’s. The Greasers are poor and wild. The Soc’s are the middle class and richer than the Greasers. If you actually got to know the Greasers they are nice, kind, and caring people. They loved to hang out in and with their gangs, but the gangs were a group of friends and their families. The Greasers gangs were always there for them while they had each other’s backs. While they are doing all that they loved to go to the drive-in movies. Although, the Greasers are a unique group the Soc’s don’t compare to what they are.

All of the Greasers have their own unique thing or two about themselves.  Ponyboy Curtis the youngest greaser of them all at the age of fourteen years old is the narrator of the story. Ponyboy’s literary interests and academic accomplishments set him apart from the rest of his gang. He has had a hard life with his parents dying in a car accident and he has to live with his two brothers Darry and Sodapop. While all of these things are happening Ponyboy struggles with class division, violence, innocence, and familial love. He has to and does mature over the course of the novel and he finally realizes the importance of strength in the face of class bias.

Darrel, Darrel is known as “Darry” in the novel, he is twenty-year-old greaser who has the raise Ponyboy because the parents had died in a terrible car accident. Darry is a very strong, athletic, and intelligente man that has to drop out of school to support his family. He has to work two jobs to keep his family together. As the unofficial leader of the greasers he becomes an authority figure for his brother Ponyboy. He also makes a great little snack for his family called Chocolate Cake, and him and his two brothers eat that every single morning for their breakfast. Also while he is dealing with he has a nick name from the greasers called “Superman”.   

Another one of Ponyboy’s brother is Sodapop, would be like your happy-go-lucky, handsome brother of Ponyboy. He is the middle child of the Curtis family. Ponyboy envies Sodapop’s good looks and charm. Sodapop plans to marry a girl named Sandy, a greaser girl. His plans don’t go as planned when Sandy gets pregnant with another man’s child and moves away to live some were else.

Two-Bit Matthews whose real name is Keith, is a wisecracking greaser who regularly shoplifts. He is also a joker of Ponyboy’s group. He prizes to sleek black-handled switchblade. Keith instigates the hospitalities between the Soc’s and the Greasers by flirting with Marcia, the girl friend of a Soc.

Steve Randle would be the guy that knows everything about cars and also knows how the steal hubcaps. He is Sodapop’s best friend since grade school; he is a seventeen year old greaser who works at a gas station with Sodapop. He can be very cocky most of the time and intelligente, tall and lean.  He is tough-once he held off four opponents in a fight with a broken soda bottle. He wears thick hair and he arranges it with swirls. While he hates Sodapop’s annoying brother Ponyboy and he wishes that he would stop tagging him along.

Dallas Winston, he is toughest person in the greasers group. Dallas is known as “Dally”, and he is known for running with gangs in New York. He has an elfin face and icy blue eyes and, unlike his friends he doesn’t put grease in his hair. Dally’s violent tendencies make him more dangerous than any other greaser in the group. He doesn’t care about his criminal record; he actually takes pride in his record. Dally is protective of Johnny. 

Johnny Cade, my most favorite character in the book. He is a sixteen-year old greaser with black hair and large fearful eyes. Although Johnny doesn’t succeed in school, he approaches intellectual matters with steady concentration. Unfortunately for Johnny the alcohol and abuse of his parents, he is nervous and sensitive. Since his parents don’t care for him at all Johnny sees the greasers as his true family, so he can rely on them and they will in turn help him. For his good the older boys mainly Dally are protective of him.  

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Authors Note: In the story "Outsiders" there is a poem called "Nothing Gold Can Stay". This is a response to the story about how nothing good can last.


I believe that the meaning "Nothing Gold Can Stay" relates to the characters because in the book "Outsiders" nothing good can ever last. The kids parents don't care about them so they are considerably independent. Also the kids get over excited in things that happen in there life. When their church burns down Johnny and Pony Boy 
loses hope and realizes that they have to go home. After that when they pulled in to a drive in movie, they realized that the soc's were there, then they realized that the soc's are every where.

School Laptops

At our middle school we have these very high tech, efficient laptops that are very useful to all the teachers and students. We had just got these brand new lap tops for seventh and eighth grade students to make it easier to work. For our laptops there is an option to put it in tablet mode. Tablet mode is where you flip the laptop screen down and it would be like writing on a piece of paper. Unfortunately, there have been many students that have left them in tablet mode while they are in the hallway and while walking in the hall all of their laptop screens have cracked. IT, our technology department, has come up with a solution which states that we should carry the laptop by its handle so that the teachers can monitor your laptop while the students are walking in the halls. However, if you would bump into a person or a wall your laptop would have less protection and a greater chance of breaking, without in your laptop bag. Therefore we need to carry our laptops in their bags.

Fifteen laptops screens have broken in the bags, while they are in tablet mode. IT feels that we need to carry our laptops by the handles. For the first week of trying this new technique three laptop screens have cracked from bumping into people and dropping them. While carrying the laptops the rubber handle that connects the handle to laptop is slowing wearing off. When you are holding the laptop in the hall, it sways from side to side. While doing that it’s very easy for it to hit an object and be damaged. In addition it’s not safe because there’s no protection or barrier to protect your laptop from any hard surface your laptop would or could hit. Also if you would have your laptop while you are holding by the handle and it would fall it would stand a greater chance of breaking more than just your screen. However, if you would have your laptop in its bag it would stand a greater chance of not breaking.  

Obviously, our laptop bags are for storage and protection. We should be able to carry our laptops in there bag for safe keeping and for extra hands for supplies. Also there will be less of a threat of cracking or breaking because the bag is padded. If the teachers would check the laptops before they leave for their next class the students would be able to take their laptops in the bag. In addition would have more of an ability to have more space to carry your books and utensils. Unlike holding it by its handle in the bag there is a thicker barrier and more protected if it would have to fall off of your desk or table.

Since IT made the new rule that you have to carry your laptop by the handle many people are just ignoring that and they are still carrying it in their bag, so now the new rule is you can’t bring your laptop bag to classes. Now that we don’t have the option of our laptop bags, we can’t carry useful things like laptop charger and stylus. IT wouldn’t let us use our laptop bags then we couldn’t bring our charger to class in fifth hour and resource when your battery is low or dead, and it’s just another thing that you have to carry if you wouldn’t have your bag. Your stylus is important in most classes to draw and take notes and your bag would be useful in that situation.  In the first place you should just be able to take your laptop bag even if you would be holding the laptop by the handle. If they would let us carry the laptop bag it would be easy and more efficient way of doing things.

Now you see why you should carry your laptop in its bag; it’s safer, more efficient, more protected, and more useful way of carrying your laptop around school. Carrying it by the handle will cause it to wear and eventually break off. Putting the laptop in the bag will prevented damage and bigger expenses of damage. Having your laptop bag on you at all time will give you access to the charger and stylus. In the end it would be better and more efficient way to put your laptop in the bag and take your laptop bag where ever you go.

Outsiders

In the story outsider there is a kid named Johnny which is week and shy, he is also growing up in a gang. He is now as a dog in his gang and he had dropped out of high school. While he is getting beat up by his parents and the Soc's. I seems like Johnny is a good person and he always has Pony Boy's back, with all of those things on his back he doesn't complain at all. Yes I do think Johnny is misjudged. I think that Johnny will get hurt because he is getting beat up by his parents and he often gets beat up by people.

Tell-Tale Heart Essay Response

In the tell-tale heart story there is this man that takes several nights just to kill one person. The old man was the one person that he was going to kill and he has done no harm to him, but he had the eye of a vulture – a pale blue eye, with a film over it. So continually came every night before he killed him and shinned a light on the old man’s eye.   He said “I love the old man”, then why would he be killing him, it’s only an eye just deal with it.

Upon the eighth night he had came into the condo as normal but this time he was more cautiously than normal. Hopefully the old man won’t hear, but his fear had happened the old man got up and out of bed and said “Who’s there”. I think that he can’t see me, but he waited there for an hour. When I came into his room I could hear him groaning so I knew that was still awake. So I turned on the lantern and I saw it, the big dull blue eye’s is what I saw. I was so nervous that I throw the lantern and leaped into the room, he shrieked once only once, then I dragged him to the floor and dropped the heavy bed right on top of him. Next the old man was dead. I dragged him into the bathtub and let the blood go out in there.

In my conclusion, yes I do think that this man is crazy because why would you kill that you have nothing against him. I can’t really relate to this because this so crazy that I don’t know anyone that do that.  

Patriot's Pen

Are you proud of your country? Yes I am proud of my country in ways and not proud of our country in other ways. While our country has hit some down falls it has been slowly starting to turn around. My opinion is that I think that our president has not been making good decisions while he has been in office, and has put in debt by trillions of dollars that weren’t suppose to be spent. Our country has battled through some hard times such as 9/11. During 911 no other countries had helped our country as one had made it through all the destructive and horrible incidents that happened that day. Are country has come and saying “We can rebuild come at us again”. Even we have had trouble times there is always light in the sky for a new day.

Five Senses

Gardens have many wonderful things about them including the five senses. The five senses can be involved with gardens because you can physically do them. These five senses are sight, taste, touch, smell, and sound. While you might think some of these may not work but they all work out. Sight can be in a garden by visually seeing the seeds you are planting and seeing the daily things that you do to a garden. Taste, taste can be involved with a garden by when the plants, fruits, or vegetables are done growing you can eat them. There are many of things that you can use in a garden that involves touch. Touch is very good element in a garden. You have to use touch to feel and make sure that your soil and plants are good to be planted or plucked. Smell in a garden is key, you don’t want to have a smelly garden you want to be fresh and really need to be able to smell your plants. For me the hardest one to have in garden because you can’t hear it grow but you can hear the garden when you pour water in it and also when you pluck the plants off of the vine, otherwise you don’t hear your garden at all.  

Conculsion

With all of this bad things happening Cinderella is just hoping for just one thing to go well. When she realized that the prince was hit by a chandelier she took of not knowing that he was still alive. While she was walking down a road the fairy god mother had it her, because she sucks at driving. She was spinning in the wheels while the fairy god mother was still driving. Cinderella and the wheel falls off the pumpkin carriage and fall down a cliff. But they don't die there is a magical trampoline that saves them and they live happily ever after.

Short Stories Hook

Mack is a young man at the age of 13 years old who has one of the greatest businesses in the world, a unicorn farm. He had just been given a unicorn that is worth millions of dollars; what will he did with it? Mack possesses the gift of the world and he doesn’t want any part to do with it. What if you possess the gift of the world, what would you do if you had the gift?

Heaven Is For Real

Imagine that you were only four years old and you had went through a life changing experience, well that is what to this young child. This is exactly what happens in the book “Heaven Is For Real” by Todd Burpo. The family was going to Greeley, Colorado for a board meeting for Wesleyan Church. The story “Heaven Is For Real” is highly realistic through the whole story, character, and the lesson of the story.

In the story “Heaven Is For Real” by Todd Burpo the story plot is what the young boy by the name of Colton describes about his experiences in Heaven and what he said, “was a life changing experience. “Heaven Is For Real” starts out with the family going to Greeley, Colorado for a board meeting for their church. They family is going to the zoo, to look at the animals. However a conflict starts to come to the family and mainly Colton. Colton the main character is experiencing the flu and the doctor said “it’s going around you probably just caught it”. In this situation it wouldn’t be much of a problem nor would it turn into worse and maybe end up being horrifying for him and the family.

But the shock of a lifetime happens he I diagnosed with stomach flu and they found three large dark masses on the X-rays that were taken. Is this place in the story I can relate to it because my grandma was diagnosed with cancer and my family was in the shock of a life time. The surgery had begun for Colton. During the surgery Colton had went to heaven. “Wow what a scare of a life time”. Three minutes down on earth felt like three days up in heaven. While he was up in heaven he described all of wonderful amazing things up in heaven. He describes Jesus, the angels, how “really, really big” God is, and how much he loves us. He said “Heaven is never dark always light” and how Jesus and God light heaven. Also Colton tells every little detail and it all matches up to what the bible says. He is done with surgery and done at the hospital and heading home to share all of these wonderful stories with his family.

In conclusion, I can relate myself to the main character and the story is realistic because they tell about all the things he saw and felt. Todd Burpo wrote this book and he made a statement about that if you’re in this position you should do the right thing and take action and try to help you son like the family did. Heaven Is For Real will forever change the way you think of eternity, offering the chance, and believe, like a child.  

Creative Weather

In our science class today we are doing this project of were we have to list these different things about weather and we get to make up our own forecast. My forecast is that there will be a big giant storm coming out of no were and it will be getting high winds. It will be a thunder storm turning into a tornado. It will be getting into about 70 MPH winds and about 4-5 inches of rain will be falling and some of the homes and the streets will be flooded out also will have to relocate to a different area for that amount of time. This is going to have an impact on the people in the city of Pewaukee and Brookfield. A few days before this it is calm but even the meteorologist didn't see this coming when it was all done it had left twenty people injured, about 100 homes gone, and not helping at all.

New Technology

In social studies tony and I are creating a new store in Guatemala and i is called "+ A+ Education" we have created this new store because 1/3 of the people in Guatemala can't read and write. So this will help them by having laptops so they can type on the keys and not have to write them out and with a little help from the helpers on this new devise we hope that it will bring there reading and writing up to about 92% compared to the 69% right now. Thing devise will be sold around the world so we can help children and adults read and write better. 

Milwaukee Rainbow Warriors

The Milwaukee Rainbow Warriors was created by two of my friends Zach Van Buskirk and Andrew Meilke. It is a girls Softball Team. They created the team to be in the NPF.  While they think that they will make millions of dollars I agree with them if this softball team would become an actual team. This would mean Milwaukee would get a softball team. I'm am guessing either they would build one or use the field right by Miller Park Called Heather Field.  There team symbol is really cool because its has a mix of different colors and a knight with a shield it a great logo for the team.

Soccer

Soccer is my favorite sport, it has different points of the game. While there are many different positions such as defense, mid-field, and forward, my favorite is forward. It my favorite because that is the position that can go and score goals but i usually play mid-field cause they need my speed to get back on defense and go up on offense. I usually play the whole game, I usually don't get tried and I don't need a lot of water to play I just go and have fun and win the game for the team and our team is very supportive of each other and that why I like playing for Pewaukee Select Soccer Club. I have been doing soccer ever sense I started it when I was like 3-4 years old I started it by watching a few older kid do it and I told my mom I wanted to do that sport I it has been all good stuff from there on.

Pudding

Today I will be talking about pudding and the different types of it, but first let tell you the basic form of pudding there are out there right now they have pudding mixed with other puddings but the basic kind is chocolate pudding and vanilla pudding. My favorite would have to be vanilla because I think that it is more rich and the flavor is better. I'm not saying that I hate chocolate but I don't like it as much as I like Vanilla pudding. The best vanilla pudding is when it is mixed, I don't really now what it is mixed with but I do now that I like it a lot. If you want to post a comment on my blog about this just go right under it. If you had to choose to live on a Vanilla Pudding island or Chocolate Pudding island which one would it be and why? I would choose vanilla because it my favorite kind what is yours?

Ping Pong

There are many different types of things you can do with a ping pong but most people use ping pong tables and ping pong balls do do or play game. Ping pongs are a small ball that is white and it can bonce off the ground or almost every surface. Some people in our school like Zachary Van busker likes to do a game I'm not sure what it is called but the object is to get the ping pong ball into cone shaped object. We some time do that at lunch and it can be fun. Ping pong balls can also break or crack if you hit it or put to much force on the ball. I like to play ping pong because it has a lot of fun with it, you learn how to get better, can have some relaxation time. While getting all the materials for it when you set it up it will be a blast of fun.

Shoes

I am going to be talking to you about the different things about size, shape, and just plain things about shoes. So while people like us wear shoes we each have our own theme in your shoes whether it shows your personality or just buying shoes there are many different kinds to choose from. There are winter shoes summer shoes and all in between. There are all different brands and stores out there to choose from it could be difficult to some. While your feet are burning in the summer to freezing in the winter you will most likely have shoes or boots on. My favorite kind of shoes and brand is Nike. Nike has great comfortable shoes and I really like that so I buy all my shoes from Nike.While shoes can be open or closed new or old they will alway help your feet by keeping you off all the dirt and roads.

Writing Circle 2 / Baseball Cards

In my Writing Circle group today I will be talking about the different kinds of baseball cards and what is so important about them. First I will talking about the different types of baseball cards. There aren't really different types of them but there are a lot of players that get a baseball name after them. Some of the top baseball cards out there what I would guess would be Babe Ruth. He was a great hitter and a pitcher and played for the New York Yankees. So interest that people have in them, are that they are collectible, and they can be worth some to a lot of money if they are autographed by some big players in the MLB and AL leagues. Some of the baseball cards can be valuable and some not as much, but some of the baseball players can seem like there not as good at first but then they will get a lot better. What is important about them is they show how a player does for like 3-6 years at a time and it shows progress or not as good of a player. It also shows the person RBI's Home runs, and all that kind of stuff.

Writing Circle 1 / The History of Paper Clips

According to the Early Office Museum, the first patent for a bent wire paper clip was awarded in the United States to Samuel B. Fay, in 1867. This paper clips was originally intended to attach tickets together on a piece of fabric. Then a patent realized that they could be used to hold things together. The most common that are still used today are Gem paper clip. Most paper clips back then mainly all were just metal, but now a days they are metal, plastic, and rubber. There are also different colors for different themes in your office or any color that you would like a store like Office Max would have. Since 1867 to 2011 paper clips have come a long way from plain metal, to colorful piece of holding material.

Garbology Story

Austin and his family where eating dinner when his parents said" We have to tell you something"," What is it", said Austin. 'Were getting a dog", your father and I will be going to going to the pet store tomorrow." His mom continued" You should get to bed its getting late". Okay Mom. Austin replied. Austin went up stairs, got the toothpaste and brushed his teeth, then went to bed. Austin woke up the next morning to his mom making breakfast. When he went down stairs and he saw his mom flipping pancakes with the spatula. After eating breakfast Austin went to school.  "Austin came home to a tiny Chihuahua." Say hi to your new dog scruffy." said Austin's mom. "How big is he? " Austin asked  " I didn't know lets find out," Austin dad got out a tap measure and measured the dog. "He is only 9 inches tall and he was 10 inches long" Answered his dad. Can I play with him outside?" Austin asked "Why not" answered his parents. Austin went into the backyard with his dog. He grabbed a stick off the ground and throw it saying "Fetch".  Scruffy darted across the yard, going after the stick. The dog took a sharp turn and started heading towards a bunny with a cotton ball tail "No Scruffy , no!" Austin yelled as the dog chased the bunny into the woods. Austin sadly went inside and told his parents what happened. They lit the candle so the dog would know which house to come back to, if he ever came back. Austin went up to his room and cried, thinking the dog would, like a balloon when let go, would never come back. The next day, Austin decided to go and check the back yard to see if Scruffy had returned. Sadly, he hasn't returned. Austin spent the rest of the day worrying if something had happened to him. Once it started to get dark an idea had struck Austin. He was going to look for him. Austin grabbed a battery powered flashlight and set out into the woods. Night was almost upon him, when suddenly he heard something barking at him. When he turned around, Scruffy was there. "Scruffy ! I missed you so much," Austin said as he picked up the dog. He went home and told his the good news. Scruffy was given a bath and built a fence to next day, so this wouldn't happen again. Austin went outside the next day and when the fence was done they finished there game of fetch.

Many Moons

Imagine if your daughter could only get better from being sick if she had the moon on a special necklace. This is exactly what happens to the main characters and his servants in the book “Many Moons” by James Thurber. The King was observing Lenore his daughter because it had looked to him that she has gotten ill. The story “Many Moons” is highly unrealistic through the whole story, characters, and the lesson of the story.

In the story “Many Moons” by James Thurber follows the Irony form of literature. “Many Moons” starts out with a conflict that the daughter of the king is sick and ill. The King the main character is trying to get and help her feel better. However Lenore says that she will feel better if she has the moon. Now the King knows a way to help his daughter feel better. Soon the conflict is somewhat realized but the king is worried. When night time comes he is worried that Lenore will see the moon and think the one on her golden necklace is fake. That is when he realized that he could try to stop it. After all he did whatever he could do but he’s still worried about even now. Finally the king and the servants have made her not sick anymore and the can live happily ever after.

Although the story was important in some place some more than others there was a classic tale of helping a princess, making her happy, and saving her. The classic story follows the plot line, characters, and symbols. The Lesson of the story was not the best one because of the king lying to his daughter but after all she did get a nice necklace. There was symbolism; one of them would be Kingdom because those were they live. Also in this story the king is really worried about this daughter.

As you can see that the plot line clearly fits the Irony mode of literature. As you can see that the story fits the mode of literature and very clearly tells another happy ever after story. Even while the king has worries the story turns out alright. With him, his servants, and his daughter they got throw it and happily ever after.

Trip of a lifetime

About two years ago my family and I had gone to Disney World and a Cruise ship. We had split the days in half so we went to Disney 3 day and Cruise 4 days. We were so excited to be going on a another Cruise and also going back to Disney. So that night before the trip no one could sleep so they stayed up all night. That next morning we were all packed and ready to go. Were ready for the plane, and off the other trip to the happiest place on earth Disney World.

When we had got to the airport it was really early in the morning like 6:00 am for a Monday. While it was fun to me my other family members were doing great also, so finally we had got there we knew we were going to have a blast. We taken a bus to Epcot one of the four parks that Disney has to offer. Even though the bus makes me kinda sick on the way it was fun when we got there. While we take in the beautiful surroundings we had to get unpacked first. Were done!, we first had to go to Magic Kingdom. That park is the most fun to me because of its big rides and many, many rides. But before we had went we looked and it said that Space Mountain and a different one that i can't remember was closed and under repair. That sucked :( so we went on other ones that were really cool like Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror, and others but it couldn't last now its off to the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship.

It was about an 1 1/2 drive to get there from the bus but it was worth it. It was so cool like when you got there they said your family's name on the loud speaker awesome! When we were ready to come to the welcomes party. It was going to be on the sky deck but it was raining so it was indoors. The fun is just getting started and while after wards there was different hings that you could do such as Ping Pong, Pools, Slides, Arcades, and much more. It went by really fast and that stuck but it was really going really well. While my family would do something else I was almost every day there playing Ping Pong. I won almost all the games. Well now the 7 days are up we got two go back home and start school but the trip was really fun.

When we had arrived to the Orlando Airport we were bummed that we had to go home. When the flit back to Milwaukee was a long 2 1/2 hours we enjoyed Disney and the Cruise so much. Actually were going back this year go to go one 4 days first to the Cruise, the new one the Disney Dream, and then Disney for the next three and then go home and maybe do it again some other time. 

Go-Karts

Go-Karts are so much fun to so much people because they are so fun and if you have experience you can do all of these cool tricks like the one that I do is the 360* and that can be really but really dangerous. If you can get a track or just on plain grass you can do amazing stunts too. I have had good experience and bad experience if you ever see a tree in front of you look before you turn the other way, I will just say that.

NCAA Championship

March Madness is the time for college basketball. I don't really know a lot about basketball at all but a lot people have been saying all different people but I think that Kansas will make it into the championship will be Texas playing them. I think that the score will be Kansas-62 and Texas-67. Even though I'm not really good at doing this stuff I think that these are the teams that will make it into the championship and the team that will win it all. .

Professor of Smells

Imagine if your husband went to go gamble and he lost all of his money and didn’t tell you. In the story “Professor of Smells” by Richard Cohen there was a family that was doing just that without anyone knowing but the Husband. With the people in the family not knowing it was going on. If you would compare that to your family or your life that would be awful and irresponsible. Even though this story is realistic there are some similarities not only between characters and I but it can also be related to things going on in the book and life.

In the book “Professor of Smells” the main character Chung and I are alike but also different in our own ways. An example would be that we both like to gamble, but I just do it for fun and not for money. However he should tell his wife about the money that’s missing. Chung doesn’t want to let his family know that the money is missing and not getting any money to bring home. If my father or husband I would feel divested if I would find out before he would tell me. On the other hand we are both different and same in our ways. One important way were different is that I would tell family and people if something like this would happen and he didn’t yet. Before this gets out of hand Chung should tell his family.

Although Chung and I have similarities in the story we are very different, even though some people do this today we should learn just talk to our family if things like this or anything bad would happen. In our world today people still gamble and sometimes it gets out of hand and then people wouldn’t like to share what happened to family. Even though the short story is the same it teaches you what to do and what not to do. This is just not smart telling your family what happened. So you can see that these to gambling is almost the same but gambling teaches you a lesson that is, you can lose or win and if you don’t win you can’t just ask for money back.

In conclusion, while I can relate myself to the main character and the story is realistic because they describe about. If you would have to compare your life to Chung you would realize that you would have to help you family not keep secrets. Richard Cohen wrote this book and he made a statement about that if you’re in this position you should do the right thing and not steal from wife and tell your family if things didn’t go right anything anytime.

Tuesday of the Other June

In the story Tuesday of the Other June by Norma Fox Mazer it discusses and it’s how meeting someone new isn’t how you would think it would turn out. This poor girl called June has been being bullied by another kid named also June. If you were in this position what would you do and how would you do it? While these two don’t get along its right to have a right to fight back and if you would get in this position you should listen to this and see what position June is in when she is getting bullied.

In the story Tuesday of the Other June the main character names are two people named June. The one that’s getting picked on has family members named April (Mom) and May (Grandmother). While this is really affecting her she has only talked to her parents she needs to tell other people like older people adults. Personal life is going good she has been having a good time in life until the Swimming classes and school. In school she hasn’t been treated nice or kind like me sometimes. This shouldn’t be tolerated and should stop as soon as possible. While in my life I get picked on its different what she does and what I do. For her she runs home as fast as her feet take her and go to her mom. Even thought I don’t do that I described what I would do in the later. While our life have the same is common is this stage we parents and friends should try to cheer her up and help her and stop the bullying. Though we both do it in different ways we both have the same thing in common what that thing is that being bullied. Secondary it’s really bad that people do this to her. To being this, this isn’t even right to be happening.

After and during the swimming classes she had been getting picked on, teased, and being badly bullied and teaming up against her. I’ve been in this position many times and I have had experience so I will help out people and this little girl. The thing that had struck me is that June and Parents had moved because it was too hard for June to handle it, but they moved to the same school that the other June went too. In the first place you would have to see if the bullying kept on going. Then if it keeps on going what June should have done is warn a teacher, councilors, and people you know but don’t spread it around the community or area. Another to take this would be to have a talk with both girls both June’s and ask why she is doing this to June? This is another way June could have taken this a had a good outcome.

Even though she did fight back not by bullying her back she had learned to sometimes just let it go I would say. While she is still living in the same school and the same area of June, June has realized that to stand up for herself and have a good time. Finally after the story wraps up the whole thing is resolved.

Holes

It was a warm sunny day and wasn’t a fun day for Stanley Yelnats. In the book holes by John Steinback he tells about a child's life and how one little thing can turn into a big disaster Disappointments grow as he was convicted to stealing NBA all-star player’s shoes that he had stolen. He was packed and ready to go to as he had a choice to go to jail or Camp. Finally the day had come he went to Camp Green Lake. Spending some time at a Camp didn’t seem so bad but he didn’t know what he got himself into. So he’s wondering what will he do what will happen?

All throughout his child hood he hasn’t done anything like this, but his grandfather is the man of crime. While Stanley had started to get there he realized it wasn’t the Camp he thought it was it was tore ruse and nonstop digging. The warden was the one in charge of it all. Stanley learned she was looking for something. Everyone there is there for a bad thing that they had did. Feelings of hate, sweat, and digging for unknown treasure. After he found out that he would work every day all day he got really tried and thirsty. There were so many other people there digging five foot wide by feet deep holes in the barren waste land of he once biggest lake is Texas.

While the pain of digging was hard and barren the warden was always watching them and their moves along the area. The Lake seemed so big and goes on, and on forever. The warden wants he boys to “build character”. With so many other kids there he thought it would take a while but it took forever. While Stanley was digging he had found some lip-stick. Even though Stanley family has been cursed for generations he has a bright future hopefully! Stanley had made a new friend called Zero. While he makes friends with him zero runs away! When he goes to look for him, when he finally finds him and goes back to look for treasure.

Although digging holes is a pain Stanley is released from Camp because of a case file that he didn’t steal the shoes. Stanley was thrilled that he had left but he will miss his friend Zero but he is thrilled. He never wants to go back there and will have a great life. It was finally good to go back home and not have to worry about digging holes and working in the heat. All through this story Stanley realized that always think before doing is what I think he’s thinking and don’t do things that might get you in trouble that you will end up in the place Stanley Yelnats was.

Superbowl

The big game of the year the Superbowl. Its the time of year for the two best teams in the NFL battle for the number one seat the Superbowl Champions. I predict that the score will be 27-31 Packers Victory. On Sunday the players will rise and the big team will battle it out in the Dallas Stadium of over 100,000 thousand people will be in it. My statement is that the pack will win and the story of the Superbowl.

In Superbowl it will be intense of Aaron Rodgers and the other one. In this match up it will be one of the best Superbowl's even played. While this will be going to people from all over the U.S. will stay tuned and watch the greatest match in history. About the Green Bay Packers it has been a long but well deserved spot in the 2011 Superbowl, although they have some key injury's the team is strong and will win the XLV Bowl. There backup personal people have been doing great and exceeding the other teams in the NFL. In there past superbowls they have won 3 of there 4 times they have been in the so they have a good chance of winning the game.

Snow Day

It was a beautiful calm winter day Monday January 31 and until mid-night. The biggest winter storm 10 years and the people of Pewaukee were glad that they might get a snow day for the kids. While the weather men got the news that the big storm was on its way they had predicted more and more snow each time. When the forecast was clear and not changing there it was the snow fall totals.

When the snow had started to fall the kids were wondering how long will it go. It kept on coming 18-24 inches of the white stuff. It meant great joy to most people. The adults were staking up for to big one and stared to hurry so they wouldn't miss out the snow there life. Once it started it didn't stop people were hurray and joy to mother nature. All they wanted it a day to play and not not have school to have fun instead of learn, just one day that's all they wanted and will the school give it to them and that's their choose and the children wait, wait and wait. Till the school will shutdown and be closed for a day.

They waited and waited till it would happen and hours went by and they were so anxious to see the school down and one more day to be free. Finally in the morning they see the school is closed and another day to be free and enjoy the snow while it will stay and happy days till the next day. The people were happy with the one day off and it was fun to finally be off. The very next day it was back and now they hope for another white night.

The Deep Water Essay

In the story Deep Water by William O. Douglas he has been writing other short story novel such as "Deep Water". This book has a lot of horrify parts in it. The author of the book wrote this book of his experience in his life about and the fears that he has. This young boy in the story is scared about swimming and just learning how to swim and only ten years old and a new experience and knowing the feeling of suffocating under water.

Being in this situation at this young age is horrify and untreatable. The first experience is always the worst and the feel of failure for this young child. He is only 10 years old and other guys that were 18 years old in college through him into the deep end the pool and called him screwy and names. He had nearly drowned, but he knew that he could get by sinking to the bottom of he could spring of to the top by hitting the bottom hard and swim to safety.

His plan had back fried. He only had his nose out of the water but he could get his mouth out to take breath. He had kept on trying it over and over again every time he failed. He found himself trapped inside the pool and not feeling well and puke. He is now terrified and frightened of the water in pool. He couldn’t get into the boat his legs where freezing and he is paralyzed and tried.

This has affected William very much it stopped him from doing any water actives such as swimming, fishing, canoeing and some other water activities. William had decided to get a trainer to help have little to no fear of the water anymore. This training had made William not afraid of water at all anymore. It would have been terrified to be in his position it would have been terrifying to have been there only breathing and never know when it would be your last.

This short story is full of sad terrifying stories and last breathe but in the end the author did a great job. If anyone that hasn't read this and has read it after it would be really good cause it wouldn't be that good. I didn't like this book as much as others but, it was well written and had excellent details about the character and the author did a great job on it.

The Pearl

In the book Pearl there are lots of adventures, threats, and gives the family there strength and loves for each other. While the story is at its start Kino, Juana, and Coyotito live in a straw house and they are very poor. Kino is an impoverished native that is a pearl diver. He loves his family very, very much and would do anything for them. So when Coyotito got stung by a scorpion they new that it was bad.

So little while after Coyotito got stung by the scorpion Kino went pearl diving. When he went pearl finding he found a giant pearl. He had found the pearl just off the coast of the ocean. When he found the pearl he had to do something with it but he was just in shock that he had found it. So he wanted to help his son Coyotito with his scorpion bite. So he went to the doctor house and the doctor said "he won't help them because they are poor and he only helps the rich people". But when the doctor realizes that he could maybe get that big pearl he comes to the house. The doctor comes to the house and " helps Coyotito" but doesn't really. So after that the doctor will try to steal the pearl.

When Kino finds out that someone is trying to steal the pearl he comes a bit addictive about it. When all the people in the town hear that Kino has the pearl of the world they will try to steal it from him. So Kino puts it in a certain spot so hopefully can find it. So when Kino comes to obsess with the pearl he puts the pearl first and family last. When the pearl gets Kino people on end people are trying to steal the pearl so Kino and his family try to leave.


When the family has left they have a fit for survival they are just so tried and sick so Kino finally throws the pearl back into the ocean and the family of Kino and Juana are sad that there son Coyotito has passed away and they will have a good journey together.

Reflection chapter 3

My reflection on the story so far is that is when I had taken a family vacation. So during our vacation we had decided to go and try to find shell and maybe find a pearl inside of it. So when we had gotten off the cruise ship we had went to this beach called castaway key and we were just getting there and someone had been finding pearls like crazy so we had went in with a bag and had found 1 pearl and it was really small and we keep it and it was really cool. People didn't try to steal it so it wasn't all like the story but that is my reflection.

Kino And Juana chapter 1

The book Pearl is a reflection on how a family can be so poor but do so many amazing things. I can relate to this story by, when I was on a vacation once they had asked us to go pearl clam and pearl diving and when we were out really far we found a pearl that looked very nice and clean. When Juana found the pearl, people were wanting it so bad. If Kino wouldn't buy or sell something it would get stolen or he will have to throw it back in the water. Its also hurting the family of Kino and Juana.

The Pearl

In the story pearl by John Steinbeck, Juana is afraid that the pearl will destroy the family of Kino and Juana. The pearl will destroy the family because it has come to much of a ticket item to people and to be stolen. In the book "the town's people become Kino enemy". The doctor had tricked Kino into helping Coyotito with his scorpion bit. Later that night someone came into there straw house and tried to steal the pearl
